2011 Southampton Junior Open

On the 25^th October, Southampton City Golf Course hosted its 2011 Junior Open with no less than 43 entrants taking part.  Played on both the 18 hole and 9 hole courses at the facility, it was a hugely successful day incorporating a variety of ages, but with some excellent golf on display throughout.

The overall winner was Sarah Bradshaw of Stoneham with a terrific gross score of 73 over the JH Taylor design course, beating Steve Savage into second place.

The 18 hole net prize was won by home player Ryan Keites, with the nine hole spoils being taken by Sonny Hartnett-Blackwill.

Reflecting on the event, Southampton Golf Club Junior Organiser, James Ashby said, “it was great to see so many young players competing in the event.  The quality of the golf was bettered only by the behaviour and spirit that the players displayed, making a lovely day to be involved in”.
