The senior section of Southampton G.C. was formed in 2004.It was the idea of Dave Humphries to play matches against other golf clubs in the Hants & Dorset
areas. Dave contacted several clubs and we played 9 home and away matches with around 15 original members in that first year.We played at Weybrook Park Basingstoke,Queens Park Bournemouth and Gosport & Stokes Bay amongst others. Five years on and we still play those clubs as well as, Christchurch Golf Club, Paultons,Hamptworth,The County Club,Wellow,New
Forest Golf Club & East Horton.

The Senior Section also holds 5 Majors each year, in addition to those held by the main club.

In 2008 the first Southampton Senior Open was held and attracted 98 players from all over the area, including some from Ryde I.O.W.

At present we have a hard core of around 45 senior members and we meet every Thursday all year round at 11.00am for a "roll up".
